Amy Shertzer is an award-winning professional portrait and landscape photographer based in Monument, Colorado. She has been photographing families and kids across the country for ten years and is recognized by the Professional Photographers of America as both a Master Photographer (M.Photog.) and Certified Professional Photographer (CPP). In 2013, she was awarded the distinction of "Family Photographer of the Year" by the Professional Photographers of California. In addition to having people in front of her lens, she loves to travel and photograph our beautiful world.
She has called the Tri-Lakes area home at three different times in her life, and has happily spent more time living in Colorado than anywhere else. She first settled in the area as a cadet at the U.S. Air Force Academy, graduating in 1999. She separated from active duty service after serving five years as a Mechanical Engineer in the Air Force. She returned with her husband for a second time to the Tri-Lakes area in 2004, courtesy of his Air Force career. And she settled here for the third time in 2015. She and her family love the area and plan to call Monument their "forever home." She grew up in central Florida and in between calling Colorado home, she's lived in Ohio, Montana and California.
She's a competitive runner and loves getting into the mountains to explore our local trails on foot, bike and skis. She has two children in D38 schools and when not behind the camera or outside at play she volunteers a considerable amount of time in the Lewis-Palmer school district and as a coach of the elementary school Landsharks running team.
If you're looking for a gorgeous family portrait, baby pictures of the newest love in your life, photographs of your adorable kids or portraits of your high school senior as they get set to embark into the big wide world, Amy is your photographer!
